Shorena Khukhua – ATSU Alumni

Since the school period, I have been greatly interested in foreign languages and history of foreign countries. I always heard about the strength and popularity of the Faculty of English Language and Literature at ATSU. This helped me make my professional choice and in 2004 I enrolled in Akaki Tsereteli State University on the faculty of Humanities with a specialty of English Language and Literature and I graduated from the university in 2008. I consider that competitive conditions at ATSU helped me greatly develop skills such as: see the things in different and detailed ways, academic writing and verbal communication, search for the necessary information fast and productively etc. A competitive area has greatly increased during the period of globalization which is a challenge to gain more experience, gives you more opportunities to change and exchange ideas, get high level of education; these things are imminent condition on the way of self-development.

On the basis of this characteristics and education received at ATSU I started to be actively involved in trainings, seminars and conferences both on local and international level.

I think that the investment put in education is the greatest one and education is the strong tool that gives you opportunities to make changes in your own self and share your experience to the others.

I am an invited lecturer of Kutaisi University.

Since 2011 I have been working in the City Hall of Kutaisi Municipality on the position of the head of the department of Foreign Affairs and International Projects.

While being in Strasburg, which is the most multicultural city and the place of Euro Institutes, I clearly saw the material and mental difference between Georgia and European countries.

In the period of being in Strasburg, I wrote a guidebook about international protocol, which I think is very interesting for young people. In this guidebook I make a survey of international relations and protocol on the example of different countries.

My international experience gave me the opportunity to learn more about international politics, structure, regulations, working of European institutions abroad and get experience for your own local needs and manage specific issues in appropriate ways.

I try to lead my work in direction of defending values which is effectively done in different European countries. I do believe that the development of our country is directed to the European institutes.
